    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[private]  let your waves crash down on me and take me away

Laurelin had fallen asleep and woken up in a bed of soft grasses and wildflowers, which was not the worst way to spend his time at all. He was sprawled out, as though seeing just how many flowers he could squash with his dark blue body, and rolled around a bit for good measure.

Now, though, he wasn’t sprawled out anymore but had his head up and was looking around at the early morning landscape. The river seemed to be being awfully noisy this morning and after a long debate on whether it would be worth it to get up and go investigate, Laurelin finally pushed his legs beneath his body and walked over to the bank - looking down and watching the water course over rocks.

The first time he sees a fish, the young colt nearly jumps out of his skin. A wordless shout escapes him and he turns in a circle before peering down and seeing if he can spot another. The second makes him jump a little too, how funny the idea of creatures living in water are to him.

He twists around, bright blue eyes searching for his mom and calling out while his small hooves remain fixed on the banks of the river and not one inch closer - “Is the river safe to swim in, mom?”

If it wasn’t someone sure needed to tell the fish that.
