Mataeris is not the most mentally stable mare in the world. She thinks she's descended from royalty, and carries herself like it. She moves with purpose and grace, and when she speaks you can tell she's chosen her words with care. You can tell she is calculating everything. Her eyes dart everywhere, taking in her surroundings, and one of her ears is always focused on something else. It is easy to imagine then, that Mataeris is quite paranoid, and this aspect bleeds into a lot of her life.
