    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

A small smiled curled on her lips as she heard Chems acceptance of her being there mother. It would be hard but rewarding in the end, hopefully. Chem has never outright said she was a good mother so it was nice to hear it from him. He touched her muzzle which was the first touch in a while, she softly nuzzled his neck but pulled back not trying to show an abundance of emotions in front of this mare. She moved her head to nuzzle the blue roan filly who lingered around.

Her ear flicked towards Chems voice but her head remained fixated on the foals he said that they will need Sreva as well and she rolled her eyes to herself. Ensuring no one else could see her eye roll, was that in hope to calm the mares raging hormones? She had the choice to foal this season, just like everyone else did, and she chose not to. She gave a snort and pushed the thoughts from her head before anyone noticed her distasteful face. Her head jerked to the left as she heard noises off in the distance, it sounded like rocks moving but after a moment nothing appeared she fixed her gaze back on the mare who moved closer to clean the mares. It took everything in Sabe to not lunge out and bite the mare, who did she think she was? These foals would now be mothered by Sabe and treated like any of her blood foals, she certainly did not take kindly to others touching her foals. Her ears lowered on her head but she bit her tongue, and she bit it hard, refraining from speaking as it would not be kind words.

The foals were done nursing, for now, and went on to play with each other gently nipping at each other. They were clueless to what had just happened, there instincts told them the spotted mare was there mother but with all these other equines around they did not have time to process it, they just accepted it. They turned there attention to the two mares, gazing back and forth as they seemed the most interested in them.
