    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Raxa was probably too much of a fan of battle, moreso than some other mares she knew. She didn't know why fighting ignited her spirit so much, but it just did. The adrenaline racing through her veins as she fought, the power she experienced when fighting an opponent stronger than herself as she proved her own strength...

The point is, she felt good when she fought. Most mares would feel good when they had their own foal and took on the task of motherhood, but Raxa didn't know if she'd ever be ready for that. She was ostracized so young, and didn't really get to experience the love of a dam. If she ever had a foal, could she still be a normal dam, provide the care and love the little creature needed? Her heart said yes, but her brain told her no. Raxa was known for listening to her brain moreso than her heart, so right now, her instincts said to fight, and not to worry about foals for a number of years to come.

That's what she was doing now. Having been searching the battlefield for an opponent, the mare's spirit ignited when she spotted the horse. A stallion, tall and powerful by the looks of him. He had a pitch black coat, coupled with a blue mane and tail. Rather unusual, but here, Raxa had seen stranger. The wings were a sight, but she did not care. She was ready to fight, itching to, even. She didn't care how badly she would be wounded. If the battle fairy didn't heal her (even though it usually did), the magic of the Falls back home would.

The brindled roan mare let out a furious battle call, her muscled neck rippling as the buried whinny escaped her. She did not believe in words before a battle; no words should be used. That was not what this time was for. This time was about proving strength, showing how tough one could be no matter their gender.

She charged forward to meet the black stallion in combat. She curled her lips back, teeth exposed, as she reared into the air, coming down with her toughened hooves toward the stallion's back. Her teeth were aiming for his neck, a fiery look in her eye as the battle officially started.
