    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

BETTER BEWARE, I GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT
DEVIL-MAY-CARE WITH A LUST FOR LIFE

Truth be told, it was odd to not have a babe at her side. Little Raene was growing strong and tall like her father and nothing made her happier than watching the massive stallion being followed by the spotted girl, berated with a million questions. Ygritte mused at the sight of the two but took the opportunity to slip away, go outside the edges of her kingdom.

The salmon and russet mare moves easily as the foliage bends away to make a gentle path for the flower crowned mare. The birds chirp and chatter around her and filling her ears with the lovely little tinkle of laughter. Amber pools seek the sources as she moves, wishing briefly she could fly among the branches like them.

Dappled sunlight spots her hide in an ever changing blanket. It warms her skin and soul to be among nature, a perfect canvas of spotted pinks and red and greens. Nostrils expand to inhale the flora deeply, absorbing the very essence of which life in Beqanna is possible.

    The flower child.
    The queen mare.

She is alone and quiet, reaching to lip at the occasional leaf (that eagerly reaches for her). She is Gaia. She is Mother Earth. Coral tinged limbs move her to the vastness of the green grass sea. The meadow is alight with colors. Fireworks in the form of blossoms bloom and scatter across the tall grass, drawing the eye and pleasing the beholder. A smile is dancing over her pink-orange mouth as she dives into belly high foliage, making a small trail in her wake.

There are barbs and seed pods tangled in her long hair, the flower crown tilted and cocked slightly backward as she laughs and giggles at the tickling on her belly. She feels alive and she feels free.

    She is weightless.

    Ygritte.
