    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

BETTER BEWARE, I GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT
DEVIL-MAY-CARE WITH A LUST FOR LIFE

The salmon pointed woman finds herself in the meadow. It wasn't often that she ventured from the Falls but today she allowed herself to just begin walking. Her head is far too heavy with the weight of her thoughts. The Falls had been suffering a bit with the lack of activity and Ygritte was determined to fix that. She worked tirelessly to recruit new horses and to help the land grow.

The meadow had burst into the red and yellow flames of autumn. Soon the burned embers of browned foliage would follow. Pink nostrils expand as the crisp scents reach her and fill her. The gentle clutch of musty leaves and chilled air help to alleviate the heaviness that throbbed her brain. Amber pools clear with a small shake of her head. Perhaps it would do the mare good to spend a little time away from her home.

The meadow had the usual bodies present. Equines of many walks neared one another. Small snippets of conversations carried on the light breeze to the bay woman. The typical 'how are you today?' and 'my name is-'. The routine and mundane. Ygritte turns and see a few more horses approaching the meadow as she did. A nod given in acknowledgement at the nearing horses. "Hello there." Tones are low and smooth in her greeting, lobes flickering to catch a response.

Perhaps a little conversation could be good for the woman.

    NO WINTER LASTS FOREVER

I was surprised to find a mare with non-natural colored points, as I walked for the meadow. "Hello. I'm Blazed, from the Silver Cove, born here, and you are..." I ask calmly, with an auma of high grace. "Do you want my lineage? Or is simply name and origin enough? I continue, talking smoothly, charmingly, but with a voice inherited from my father, Raelnyx.

At least, I don't have my father's awful coat, but I enjoy the inheritd joy of pain. I may be sadistic, but I can be a good lover, if it's with the right stallion...

Shaking my head softly, I chase away all thoughts of a mate; in my father's bloodline, it is odd to truly be with any other horse for even partial life. You never knew what could go wrong, being of Khao's blood.

DEVIL-MAY-CARE WITH A LUST FOR LIFE

The bay and coral mare found the warmth of the meadow's sun soothing upon her back, The tall grasses tickled the swollen underbelly of the pregnant woman but she held not fear. The meadow was a place of serenity for her and she did realize that she had missed it from being in the kingdom for so long.

Some time passes by in the lazy afternoon as she grazes. Other equines milled about in some little groups or even solo much like herself but soon after there is a sound of hoof falls approaching. The salmon pointed mare lifts her skull, wildflowers tangled in her mane. The sound of the approach belong to that of a sooty gray mare. Amber hued pools scan her face ad frame, noting the scars quietly. Lobes flicker to catch the smooth tones of the title and so forth.

A gentle curl tugs at the corners of Ygritte's lips. "I am Ygritte." Syllables flow like cool spring waters over smooth pebbles. "I am from the Falls. Lovely to meet you, Blazed." When the mare-child inquires as to offering up her lineage Ygritte gives her head a curt shake. "No, no. Your name is enough." Tones all away like a drifting feather on the breeze. "What brings you to the meadow today? Meeting new faces like me?" A small laugh follows the words as it is true. When you rarely leave a kingdom or herd you can lose touch with the outside world rather quickly.

Being here, in the meadow, was odd for me. I may have been born here, raised in the Cove, but yet have no home. A kingdom might serve best for me, considering my taste for eventfulness and large populations.

"Looking for a new kingdom, possibly, or simply a stallion to be with until I wander again." I say calmly, and shift my scars away.

The cold chill of winter still upon us. Me, and my mother, heading for a currently unknown location. "We're going to see your father." I'm told, whenever I ask, and only that.

Shaking my head and blinking rapidly, I force myself out of the flashback of foalhood. Hope she doesn't notice this. I think, wishing, pleading she doesn't pass me on as another try-hard.

"I am good with secrets, finding information, and being quiet." and pass it along casually. A slight gust blew by, causing my mane and tail to rise up in it.

Lobes shift towards the woman. Ygritte had not expected an encounter as such but anyone who wanted to join the Falls kingdom was always welcome to. The bay mare would never hold a kingdom member against their will either. The tug on the edges of her salmon painted lips could be seen as amber pools meet the gray mare's gaze. Limbs drawing her closer, scenting the female.

"The Falls would welcome you with open arms, Blazed. We are a small kingdom but growing and our presence would be greatly appreciated. We havetwo different caste systems. Those of diplomatic side. They are responsible for the discussions of actions, act as ambassadors in other kingdoms and for steals and recruiting new members. The other caste is of the warrior side. They are the army of the Falls and their duties include patrolling the borders, defending the kingdom as well as performing mock fights and recruiting too. If you should prefer the quiet life as a resident that is just as fine. Should I escort you back to the Falls?" Her tones are low and solid. Behind the face with the flower crown in forged steel. Ygritte managed to maintain her humility despite her younger life and where she had come from.

Amber eyes look to the dark ones of Blazed, ready to turn and be off to the Falls as soon as the grullo mare gave the word.

(It is so fine! I hardly checken in here anyways, so busy in RL)

"Hmm.. Glad to find a kingdom willing to take me in. I do have a daughter now, however, so would that be ok?" I ask quietly, pleading that she say yes. "And I will likely take on a diplomat caste role." I add slowly, slightly louder, and on a lighter note than before.

The woods swished, treetops lowered by the winds of the castor horses. "Ha!" Laughter, evil cackling, filled the air.

As she drew closer, I drew my daughter, Sunfall, onto my other side, protecting my one child, my firstborn. I nipped her ear slightly, and she gave a little giggle, and I knew it was to carry on; our lust for pain was shared still down the generations.
