Her mother possessed a diluted brindle gene as she had the dun coloring in her ancestry, leading to the minimal dark streaks on Raxa's pelt that are visible on her barrel and flanks. The white splotches on her belly are another result of diluted ancestry genes, leading to Raxa being considered what humans (in this world or not) would call a 'crop-out'; she has pinto coloring despite both of her parents being solid. The white face is not a result of this; her father possessed a bold face as well as four white stocking.
