    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

This Little Light of Mine [Jack]

Jack's flared nostrils and pinned ears portrayed his intense anger as he closely observed Zain's actions and attentively listened to his unsettling words. Despite the urge to retaliate, he restrained himself and refrained from lashing out at Zain, not wanting to set a negative example for Eviction.

Suppressing a growl, Jack seethed quietly as he watched Zain disappear into the shadows. He regretted allowing his anger to surface, especially in front of Eviction. As Zain faded from view, Jack turned to the young colt and comforted him with a gentle nuzzle. "You're safe. Let's gather some apples for your mom and sister and head home," he reassured Eviction, masking his earlier agitation with a cheerful tone. Feeling some relief as Zain vanished, they ventured deeper into the orchard to find untouched trees.

Bending down to Eviction's level, Jack praised him, "You were really brave back there. You can pick an extra apple. Choose some for your mom and sister, and I'll carry those while you pick yours." He smiled and led Eviction to a tree with low-hanging apples, helping him select ripe red and green fruits. Once chosen, they made their way back to the girls.

    ~Twin Flame~

Young and weak, he simply watches what transpires.  He can sense the anger in Jack when the disease spreads.  The hostility is thick around them, and he does nothing but watch.  He does nothing.

When he finally comes back into his own consciousness Jack is shuffling him to a new area to gather uninfected apples.  He hurries along as instructed, with no more than a glance to where his father had left them.  In this dazed state all he hears is murmurs.  Watching Jack grab some apples, he simply mimics it without much thought.  The next thing he knows they are exiting the orchard with quickened steps...
