they promised that dreams come true
Just as quickly as she'd found her home again, she'd lost it. Perhaps the universe was punishing her for taking so long to realize that the Cove was home all along. Perhaps, had she been braver, had she gone back sooner, things might have been different. Well certainly, she would have had more time there before the world was ripped apart beneath her feet. And then there was Chemdog too...maybe she would have had more time with him.
She'd lost track of him in the chaos of the storm. As the land sunk beneath them and she was forced into the turbulent skies, she'd tried to stay with him, but such a feat was impossible with only wings and winds stronger than a tornado. She let the winds throw her, using her wings to keep herself alive and relatively unharmed. Eventually she found herself tossed in The Ruins, a place that reminds her far too much of everything that was just ripped out from beneath her. This place, thid place that was ruined by a war that we not hers. This place that now represents far too much for her, for she can imagine the death and destruction that has come not just to her land but to others in Beqanna and farther still. Over what? What was this war for?
Ori is scraped and bruised, stiff and sore, but nothing seems overwhelmingly damaged. Her wings are far too exhausted and battered to be of any use, so she tucks them to her side and begins to walk, looking for others. Anyone hurt, anyone in need, anyone at all..and maybe for Chemdog too. If he was tossed here, perhaps he was too.
but they forgot that nightmares are dreams too
