She snorts her own short laugh at Reave’s response about how irritating he was, but her frustration does not ease. There is no friendly rolling of her eyes or quirking of the corner of her mouth. He is probably right, anyway, and she had been too dumb to notice it before. Or had found it charming - which was a rather unfortunate habit of hers when she cared. Especially since it meant that now she had to deal with the same individuals with remarkably less patience and interest.
Mazikeen’s scowl deepens at the gleam in Reave’s eyes, her own narrowing as he speaks before widening at the information that Noel’s mother lived in Hyaline. Now she snorts and there is a faint hint of amusement in the sound. “Oh good, someone will be there to snitch on all the horrible things we’re doing to Bolder.”
They would be boring reports, at least. Somehow, of everyone, Bolder remained someone both she and Gale did not harm. Just the possibility of it was apparently enough of a threat and she still found herself interested in being liked by the moon-marked boy. Even if it was only with the intention of bothering Nashua by forging a deeper bond and keeping his son close.
Or, at the very least, if Gale was harming him Mazikeen did not know about it - she hadn’t really thought about that possibility until just now. It just hadn’t seemed important enough to wonder about.
A more direct question is finally released from Mazikeen’s mind as she continues to watch Reave carefully. “Who’s her mother?” Though Mazikeen does have a guess, based purely on the fact that she knows of only one other family with two other white pegasi in it that lives within Hyaline.
