    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The cruelness of the world has grow to fester into a seeping boil. Slowly, it turns in rotten and the plague oozes from the manifestation of darkness. Karsi grins to herself with a smile that was a little too big, a little too 'cheery' as she sways slowly in the darkness of a cave. The curse of sickness was a promise of a new existence for the frozen-heart mare.

A pale blue leg slowly emerges into the dying sunlight. The moon is hidden beneath a thick cloud, pregnant with spring rain, threatening the black mare. She pays it no attention as she slips between shadows and mist with nearly soundless movement. Her animation is honed to near perfection, pushing the worms and spiders from her path, raising the musty smell with the movement but it was more bearable than feeling the squish of damp invertebrates under her blue hoof.

Others (either brave or stupid) linger in the dark. The mare eyes them but keeps her distance as she spares them from her unwarranted wrath. On this evening, she is feeling something close to elation, the humid air of an early summer fills her lungs with a luxurious burn. She finds a place to stand, breathing deep, savoring the solitude of a near dark night.

With ease, the white haired mare lifts rocks larger than her own skull and thrusts them into the swelling river belly to causes a chaotic stir in the once serene waters. It felt good to watch the ripple as the river hungrily gobbled up the rock. She debates whether she wants to toss another...maybe crack the river wide so it drained and the water disappreared...no, no, she did not need the headhunters of Beqanna on her ass so soon...but perhaps if things were just too honeyed in this warm spring them maybe...maybe...she could caught just a little chaos.

    Kiss me again
Kiss me until I am sick of it

The air here is humid, beads of sweat lining his perfect dark coat as he stands near the River. He hadn’t meant to come here, having just visited his fae companions in the meadow. His intention was the cool shade of the forest. Not Sylva’s forest, he’s still not quite sure what he makes of that place yet. No, the deep dark woods of the common forest is where he was headed but decided to walk along the riverbank on his way. He’s not a fan of this early summer heat and his tail snaps in annoyance as mosquitos and gnats buzz around him near the swollen waters. This “shortcut” had been a very bad idea. It’s only when night starts to beckon on the early horizon that the heat seems to calm and the bugs kindly fuck off and his annoyance slowly begins to dissipate.

Perspiration still clings to his coat as his ears flick forward, catching the loud splashing ahead of him. Curiosity leads him around the bend, finding a white haired mare hurling large rocks into the river. She doesn’t even seem to touch them, they just lift and hurl and splash without a single twitch from the dark woman. Blazing red eyes narrow on her as he watches, fighting between his mortal common sense that tells him this chick is dangerous and the growing curiosity for magic that he can’t touch himself.

There’s also a little idea forming in his head. Sabra had brought him to Sylva for the most part unwillingly. However her eye was focused on him and he thinks the smartest thing is to try and appease her in some sense. She is one that loves murder and chaos and to perhaps keep her from realizing he’s not quite as into that as she is… This one seems powerful. Perhaps power was a better bargaining tool than senseless murder.

After another loud splash, he makes his way towards her. It’s a dangerous game he plays but life is a dangerous game and he’s come out mostly unscathed (physically at least) thus far. “That’s one way to skip rocks across the river.” His voice is smooth, a smirk dancing on his lips as he comes to a halt with some distance between them, facing her left shoulder as she stands before the water. His pulse rises slightly but he keeps his features calm and indifferent. Now that he’s a bit closer, he catches a musty scent and fights against the urge to flare his nostrils and expel the smell.
