    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    #1

Beneath the wild world Lannister paints, darkness falls. He senses it immediately, the way his father's skin quivers and his dreams thicken. A wild lock of black hair falls over one of his eyes as he lifts his head to peer around him . . . all remained quiet, save for the disturbed mumbling slipping from Elio's mouth.

Lannister watches his father for a few moments before deciding to get up. He rises gracefully, forever untangled and braided hair falling down his neck in impossibly long strands.

"Dad," he murmurs, nudging him; but just as his muzzle brushes Lio's nape, the world around him falls black and the earth beneath him disappears. "Dad!" Lan cries, eyes going wide as he falls, falls, falls; and no amount of magic he has honed is saving him - perhaps he'll fall forever -

    Thud.

Or more like a faint rustling.

Clouds are what cushion his fall. Sparse, cold clouds, but clouds nonetheless. Lannister blinks open eyes he squeezed closed in fear and attempts to steady his breathing, heart racing out of his chest. "Dad?" he murmurs, but all he sees directly before him is an endless expanse of clouds and burning, twinkling stars. He spins to see everything, only stopping when he spots something pale enough to maybe be mistaken for a star.

"Hello?" he calls hesitantly, then drops all apprehension and presses forward in a hurried trot. Something is off. He can't control this dream.

"Do you know what's going on?"
