    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Fall season has him all giddy and restless, especially around girls, though he likes boys about as much he thinks - it’s strange how they affect him differently nowadays. Nevertheless, even for Toivo it is quite a lot to take in and Tephra being full of other horses, the young male has decided to take a small break this evening, and so he finds the nearest common land.

This forest is different from the jungle in Tephra; cooler, especially this season, but it makes the greens smell fresher than even Taiga, with its salty sea-mist air. The autumn crisp on his skin helps him settle his thoughts a little, and then he concludes he probably is better off spending the night here, or in the meadow, than returning tonight. Although his wings, sunset-orange light emitting from his back, guide his steps now he can’t say the same for when he has to walk beneath the canopy with only the starlight to guide him - suspecting it to become pitch-black beneath the trees that have not yet lost their leaves, he finds a clearing, intent on spending the rest of the evening and night resting there.

By the time he arrives, his wings have indeed diminished, and he knows they won’t carry him home any more - but as he steps from between the trees, the perlino feels that he’s not alone, and his amber gaze peers left and right to find them. ”Hello?”
