    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Well, step one: find a home.

Tentatively, that had been taken care of. At least, Malkin hadn’t been chased out of anywhere yet so he was pretty sure he was going to be allowed to live there for now. Though it had taken him a while to get rid of the tiger tail that little Lala had accidentally spooked him into having, now he was his natural self.

Or, what he had adopted as his natural self anyway – truthfully he couldn’t remember what colour he had been born as but he much preferred this maroon bay anyway.

Regardless, there is no tiger fur on his back and the tail that flicks behind him as he moves through the meadow is his own – soft and pink and gorgeous. One might think that someone as skillfully annoyed at any conversation as Malkin might pick a blander colour but he can hardly help it – it’s in his genetic code to be as ostentatious as possible and he has just decided to live with that.

Besides, maybe he wouldn’t be so annoyed at conversation if they complimented his hair as an opener. Honestly, is that too much to ask?

His gait is meandering and his eyes are somewhat glazed - he's just sort of hoping he'll stumble into a conversation, spend a few minutes being annoyed, and then hopefully turn into a bird or something and fly away. Every once in a while his annoying, awful little gift can align with his intentions.

Okay it only happened once but a super-old-man can dream, right?
