    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Quand on n'a que l'amour - any
    #1
With a loud gasp she startles awake. For a moment she only sees the mangled and torn apart bloaten bodies, then slowly her senses start to return to her. All she hears is the rushing of her own blood and loudly beating heart, and as her eyes try to adjust to the darkness she is not able to get the horrible sight out of her mind. She sees the girls everywhere she looks, and it is not hard to imagine what their cries had sounded like.

The thoughts alone make her sick. Never, ever, would Amore be able to understand why one would harm a child.  And even less does she understand why it was allowed to happen. The fairies, bystanders, someone must have been able to help the children. But no. Brennen's girls have been the victims of something horrible. Something that would haunt the ebony woman for a long time.

Her wrecked appearance doesn't hide anything. Amorette hasn't been sleeping a lot; every time she closes her eyes she is again confronted by the sight. Wound's disappearance didn't do anything to ease her worries either and if Warrick didn't have enough on his plate yet, Klaudius had started rebelling too. And there is nothing die can for him, or so she believes, as all recent happenings push her to the edge of crumbling under the pressure.

Her body protest as she first rolls to sit up and then pushes herself up from the ground. She is exhausted, but knows she won't be able to get more sleep tonight. So why bothering to stay in the dark cave under the volcano all by herself? Amore does not want to be alone, and wishes for another's presence to relief some of her ache. But, this deep into the night, she knows that the chances of bumping into another Tephran are slim. Very slim. Waking somebody up does not even cross her mind.

And thus she settles for the second best option: the heated pond near the base of the volcano.

OOC: Please bear with me. Wrote this from my phone during a too long bus drive home. Any and all are welcome to cheer her up ♡.
