    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The day is nothing exceptional. There are bodies milling about, some encased in conversation and others simply tugging at the last bit of grass that remained just before the unsought of winter. The dappled buckskin woman already notices the length and heaviness of her coat. A small frown pulls her lips as her heavily antlered head swings to give her side a good look to measure just how much growth there had been. Teal eyes fall beneath the dark lock of hair that falls from the shag of her mane. She had not spent much time in Beqanna but already was notice the changes of the seasons over the passed few months.

Thankfully, the rut of autumn had passed and the woman was free to roam without the open thread of rape. There had been a few occasions that she had been grateful for her antlers to drive off the occasional brazen stallion that wanted to have his way with her. They were met with punctures to their sides and throats, bleeding and howling like banshees. Bu now, the hormones and tempers are calmed like a cool hand on a hot brow. The mustang woman decides to enjoy the day by moving through the forest at a leisurely pace. One black stocking limb in front of the other as she observes the birds and squirrels gearing up for the cold embrace of winter.

This land where all was so strange yet familiar. Beqanna seem to accept the woman greedily...maybe even hungrily. At least it was a place comfort for now despite the lack of a permanent residence. The forst would just have to shelter her for the time being.
