    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Here it comes with no warning; capsize, i'm first in the water
Lucrezia had never thought she would have been a mother again. Honestly, she had never thought she would have picked up two orphan twins from the adoption den. She had always loved children and raising her first son had great moments of love and happiness.
Perhaps that is why she had approached the duo that day—a part of her missed the mother-child relationship she once had. And she could have never left the two others alone after she saw them and how they played together.

She took them home and the rest had become history. The days passed and the little ones had grown. Lucrezia became a mother again, and fell into the familiar patterns of motherly duties to her two little ones. She chased and played games with them. She showed them all around Tephra, and even told them tales about the world.

Truthfully, she would have done anything for them. The two of them became much part of her just as her son, Rome, had. A love for both Briske and Rustle grew within her heart and she knows that sort of love could never be lost. It was a mother’s life—real and straight to the foundation of her heart. It was not a false love that she had once been filled with from along ago family that raised her. However, that part of her life was history now and she does not rest her thoughts on such a past anymore.

“Brisk!” She first calls out for and then, “Rustle!” It has been a while since she saw the two. She wouldn't be surprised of the two of them had gotten into some trouble. Lucrezia might have even encouraged it one time, but she always made sure they knew to be wise about their choices and not to venture too much into danger.
    ...too close to the bottom.
