    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    COME LITTLE KIDLETS
    #1
The fairies were angry and so a punishment they did give,
to take away the powers with which most Beqannians live.
They moved mountains and created new land,
altered the earth and moved all the sand.
One by one they did repent their sins,
and only after a plea did She return their wings and fins.
But a year had passed and during this time,
It seemed that the children were doing quite fine.
Peace was temporary, the fairy knew this,
but still she swelled with pride at the point very few did miss.
So it was then the fairies met together and created a plan,
to restore their powers and with that they ran.

The Hero Rebel Fairy looked down upon the meadow so bare,
and called them all to hear her fanfare.
"The first two to reply shall have their powers granted at once,
no need to prove yourself no longer a dunce.
But this restoration comes with some strings -
for you must pass this restoration to all the things!
You can do with this as you wish -
make them beg, steal or fish.
But pass this one to five others you must,
by the time winter falls next year with a gust."

And so the iron clad fairy does smile -
and wait for the first horse with the guile.

(The first two horses to reply to this *without their powers restored* will have their powers granted immediately. They then have 1 BQ year (2 RL months) to pass this power on to 5 other horses - IN CHARACTER. You may NOT play the other horses. And you can use it as a bargaining chip, or grant limitations if you so chose. Don't worry, this opportunity will present itself a few more times!)

Edit: Post coming posts do not count and will be deleted. Reply in character only!

i suddenly feel like a different person
from the roots of my soul comes a gentle coercion

The sounds of their words cross the meadow as the bleakness of winter seems to muffle all except the fairies. Dark eyes are drifting between the flakes to see the fairies in their conversation. For a moment, Marlyn feels guilty for spying quietly and she moves to remove herself but then she hears the call for the first two horses to come forth and claim their powers. The mare perks up with quick steps as she goes to meet their request in turn for her own plea.

Honey pools lifts as the tall mare nods in greeting politely to the pair before making her claim. "Fairies, I heed your call and request and ask that I may be the first to receive this gift..this opportunity." Her voice tapers off as she stands form but not challenging, awaiting their replies with a hope swirling in her eyes.

    Life was full of opportunities.

That was what Bruise had learned from a young age when he had made his way down the mountain and felt the powers slip from his grasp so easily—so fully. It had been infuriating to know what he could be, what he could do, and see it disappear. He, and his father, could be magnificent. They could control worlds and damage dynasties and be the change that so many around him desperately needed, even if they did not realize it.

    This. This was an opportunity.

He arrived shortly after the first, with her simpering words and smiles. He does not bend so easily or beg. The fairy had not asked that of him and he would not do it. Instead, he walked up, still young and coltish with legs too long, the singular horn alien and wrong on his forehead. He looked the fairy in the eye and nodded his head. He could pass this along to five others. He smiled. That part would be fun. "I'm in."

The armed lady looks to her left then to her right,
to the children who can carry on her might.
The first, little fish girl, with eyes so bright and wide,
wants to be the first to shift Beqanna's tide.
The second, a great beast, with smile less sincere,
wishes to carry on with plans so severe.

The fairy can see into their heart and smiles her slow smile,
Maybe the two will cause some trouble for awhile.
With a SNAP of her hock and a WHIP of a her tail,
she grants them these gifts - they better not fail.
