    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Rhae
She was waiting -not fidgeting. As of yet, no one but herself had come to the meeting. In truth, she hadn't been there long, but she would swear it had been hours. Every second that passed in the current king's presence, avoiding his eye, pretending he wasn't there, was a long, drawn out hour to her. He was probably looking at her expectantly, waiting for a prompt response that would not come. Did she ever have any of those?

The musk of a new male tickled at her nose, his entrance saving her from trying to speak up. She glanced at him and then away again. Nope, didn't know that one. She needn't bother, she didn't know any men save for their king, if you could even count him. Not that he wasn't a man. Just that she still didn't know him, exactly.

This new one was dark, but with pale hair similar to hers. His eyes had already snagged on her, the oddity that did not belong, and she shifted uncomfortably. Maybe he'll just ignore me. Yeah, just ignore me. He's probably not even looking at me anymore. Oh. Ok, so maybe still looking at me. Or behind me. Yes, looking around me, that must be it. Good.

"Hi there," he greeted smoothly, so smoothly. She flinched -ok, not looking around me..- and carefully forced her eyes to meet his. Gosh, but they were intense. And red. Her crystal gaze slid to his shoulder instead, taking the weight of his eyes from her. Maybe he was just going to say hi and be on his way. Or get bored of her and move on. It was never so easy, though was it?

"I'm Waylan. Do you know where I am exactly?" She frowned a little in confusion, still staring at his shoulder. Oh wait that was his foot now. Oh well.

She hadn't long to wait for clarification as he only paused briefly before speaking again. She bit her lip anxiously and her eyes were away again, far off to the side where he was just a looming shadow in her peripheral. Something about a nap, and a horn. Oh yes she'd noticed that, hadn't she? And then something else about invisibility and a land he couldn't name. He chuckled softly and a faint smile tugged at her lips in response and her gaze crept carefully back to his.

There was no doubt he would rather be talking to someone else, why would anyone choose to talk to her, but as she was the only one here his options were limited. Which also meant her option of remaining quiet was already sliding into the "rudeness" scale. Ugh, she'd have to talk, pretend to be someone who could do so. It always looked so easy to everyone else, but here she was struggling. Ok, form a thought. Then just say it.

"You've a nice color." Not THAT thought. She flinched again miserably, her hair still curtained across her face, and definitely did not look at him. Well, a quick glance at his face and a mental recap of whatever he'd been saying before. Land, right. Doesn't know it. "Pangea. Its Pangea. That's Ck-cuh," she jerked her chin towards Carnage just a small amount, still limiting her movement, but she couldn't spit out his name for the life of her. Something about speaking of devils and he'll hear. She'd much rather be ignored, thank you.

"...the king," she finished instead with a whisper.

Love is friendship set on fire ...
From where she stood she could overhear their conversation. She had seen neither of them before, but the grullo mare at least smelled like home. The pale one must be new around, but at the same time, it wasn’t like Igni’s own coat was that laced with Pangea anymore. She had hid herself in the forest for quite a while after … the incident. Only recently had she been able to sneak away through the meadow, fleeing from her dark perpetrator.

Only to come home to hear that their god would be leaving them. She was naïve, easy to manipulate, still in the dark about the truth. But to her, Carnage was a god, thé god, and she truly believed in him. Him leaving them must mean they had done something wrong, why else would he turn his back on them? At the same time, the land showed signs of development. There wasn’t only sand and muddy water anymore, but green vegetation had started to grow, all exactly like how Igni had imagined it to be. But even if he would leave them, there wouldn’t be a reason to speak bad about him behind his back.

And she cannot stop herself from mumbling out loud, even if she hadn’t meant to. ”God. He is our God.” Upon realising that she had just spoken out loud, her blue eyes widen. The blue roan girl looks at the pair for a short moment, before casting her gaze down. Her head lowers towards the ground, submissively acknowledging their superiority. Sides swollen, obvious with child, even though her pregnancy wasn’t that far. Little did she know that the demon’s seed would give her twins.
... and fire is the burning passion within.

She was afraid, or was she nervous? He couldn't quite tell. Fear and anxiety were all quite the same in his mind, they both toil with the mind driving it to the edge of insanity. Partners in crime, in driving one off the edge. Yet he wasn't necessarily trying to scare her, she wouldn't be his victim today. He had already made himself known, and where is the fun in that? If your prey can't see you coming theirs no point in making the kill.

His crimson gaze remains upon her, and he could sense her lack of comfort. Her wandering eyes, her timid demeanor. But when she speaks up, allowing her eyes to meet his that genuine smile of his widens. Her words are jumbled, and confused, You've a nice color. followed by an answer, Pangea. Its Pangea. That's Ck-cuh.

She motions towards the leader figure that was leaving them. It was such a pity, that a king could quit so easily on his own people. Such a pity indeed. Strangely it gave him a reminder of his father, the pitiful man was pathetic with the lines of a chamberling general that long passed and of a Gates queen his father could of easily stepped in to steal a Heavens throne, for he was of Fiasko's blood and had rightful claim. But the man was pathetic, he set his priorities low keeping Gryffens herd land. While his father could of easily stolen the throne of Zeik, Or Wrym, or perhaps even the old battle axe himself, Mast. But that was his father, and this was him, Pangea would be his playground eventaully he just needed the time to create comrades.

With a crooked grin, Waylan meets the gaze of another speaking of this pathetic man as their god. "A god doesn't abandon his children." Waylan growled silently allowing his grandfathers innate wolf like instincts to appear. "It's quite ungodly to leave, when all has started anew." He snaps at the foolish girl who joined them, as his crimson eyes inspect her frame.

He's aggressive, and particularly pissed about his slumber. He must of missed the whole god damn reset of Beqanna, well fuck he was looking forward to that. Possibly gather together his comrades to create his own land of mass murders but alas the likelihood have having anyone join his crew were pretty short numbered. With an angered sigh the man speaks up, "Best to make comrades before all hell breaks lose." He turns tail and leaves the small group, he would rather be at the top of the hierarchy than lower so he was off.
