    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

His body was still dusty from shaking off the remnants of stone that had coated his body. Unused to a body without wings, Ashley shook his head again, attempting to clear his head of anything that he thought he might have done to wake him up in this hell-dimension.

A world without magic. Was there such a thing? Moreover, Beqanna without magic, in such an apocalyptic measure, he was sure that if he was awake without much of a fanfaire or circumstance, that the draining of the land from its magic meant that not only was he a victim of circumstance, but that he was most assuredly not alone in the way he was feeling.

Weak and disoriented, he pulls his body up to the bluffs and looks down, his vision blurred slightly from years in stasis. He cracked and he creaked, as one does with old age, but this was the land of the sunrise, and even as he felt he could sense the feeling of magic nearby, he had no idea as to which direction it was coming from, let alone how best to search it out. Instead, he decides to go down and greet them, to try and ascertain what exactly has happened to his homeland.
