    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    I'm A Sucker For Pain

The blue mare was given little to no love in her childhood, Chemdog, the lead stallion, left for a year or more, and Sabe (adoptive mother) raised three foals and Kosaka had little connection to her herd. She was almost two years old and she had enough of living in her heard, she decided to find a home of her own. Even if that meant to leave her twin sister, they would need to go there separate way at some point.

She had a quick pace as she made her way from the volcanic village to the field, she heard this was the place kingdoms came to recruit new members, a way to find a new home. She looked about as she reached the field, plenty of other bodies around. She gave a snort as she gazed about, finding a spot beneath a tree away from the others, perhaps she would be able to find someone to recruit her if she stood out all by herself. The snow fell from the sky, although the pine tree she stood beneath offered protection from the wet white flakes.

In the very depths of the despair and the darkness, it pulled him forward. It called out his name, calling for him to return. The very magic of the land beckoned him back to the lands of Beqanna. It overthrew the darkness that chained his very soul to the shadowland. In the end, he was a servant of the darkness despite being the king, the devil himself of hell – he must obey.

Rodrik returned to the land of Beqanna. It was here that he had become everything imaginable – he was a nobody that became a someone. He had become a king once. It was a milestone in his life he had once been highly proud of to say he had accomplished. However, it was nothing to compare to what he was capable of now. Being a king was simply a stepping stone in his life for grander things than what he expected.

Yet, he is here now – standing in the field of homeless horses that are looking for something. The beast recalls these memories well, so many years ago when he gave it all to raise a dying kingdom from the ashes. He has yet to touch foot into the evil kingdom, but something directs him to come here first. It is a simple push, an understanding he has grown accustomed to with the very darkness that leads him, that he must be here.

Rodrik’s hollowed eyes, filled with darkness and lifelessness (though still a hint of nugtmeg coloring lingers), quickly find the blue roan mare. He can feel the very depths of her soul – a natural instinct of him to prey upon the very purest of hearts to fill his ever dying needs to actually live. The devil steps forward from the shadows, the sunlight slowly revealing the miscreation. The chestnut is a decaying body of flesh with ligaments, bones, ripped muscle, and cracked bones exposed. He reeks of death, the very odor of hell clings onto him like a leech. He is the devil, he is hell.

The devil moves forward, quick to push through the year’s first sign of snow. Rodrik has only eyes for the blue roan mare – as if she holds the key to something he needs. It was not out of his character to use others for his own benefit and gain of power. Rodrik was always selfish in his needs and desires in this life. Surprisingly, there was a very small spot of kindness and love in him once. It had been the only thing that had kept him at bay from the darkness taking his complete humanity away. The likely story would have been that the good had won over the darkness, but truly the darkness had at last devoured his entire soul. It is the very existence that made the monster move with life now, to come back to this world once again.

Rodrik comes to a halt underneath the tree, even following behind the other stallion. The beast eyes the mare only, keeping his gaze onto her as he sorts her out carefully. Rodrik, before he came who he is now, had always been good at reading others. It had been a great talent of his to know exactly how to manipulate someone to his own personal needs, and even the needs of the Chamber once. And now he was able to read further into others. It was the weakest of souls that were willing to do so; an open book for him. He does not prod for answers though, the darkness had brought him and slowly the truth would be revealed to why he was to be back here in Beqanna

He gives the other stallion a quick look over and gives him a soft snort of disgust. Rodrik found he would spend little time interacting with the other stallion, especially that the task was set right before him. A devilish smile uplifts his lips as he turns his gaze back to the young mare. “What is it you want?” He says with a very hoarse voice that has not been used for many years.

OOC: Worst post ever x.x Give me a bit of time... Rodrik is so weird to write for me lol
