    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Finally a home?

The buckskin stallion smiled as he breathed in the air and shook his black mane. In the sun you could see the red highlights in it as well as in his tail. Letting the breath out that he was holding, he smiled even more. Here was a new land where he could find a home in, or he hoped he could. He hoped Mist was okay. When she had left him to go venture out on her own; he had embraced her and told her that if she ever needed him to find him.

Shaking his mane, Dusty pranced around, tossing his head and picking his hooves up, the young stallion was having fun. He couldn't begin to explain how he felt if someone asked him. Dust looked around as he had stopped by a little river and lowered his head to drink. His ears flickered around, catching every sound but trying to listen for the sound of hoof beats. That was what he longed for the most. Ever since Mist had left, he had been lonely and wishing he had someone to talk with and someplace to call a home.

Lifting his head with water dripping from his lips, Dust swallowed and then let out a nicker, seeing who was around him and or if anyone was. Waiting for an answer, he then started to paw the water, making it splash up, cooling him on the warm day.

The Ebony mare made the long and exhausting travels from the Tundra to the field, it has been a couple of weeks since she visited and she felt as though she was slacking on her diplomat duties. It felt as though she has been traveling all day and night but it was worth it when she reached the crowded field. Almost everyone was in a conversation, it was breeding season after all. She scanned the area for potential recruits, her body was sleek with sweat, a completely different climate in the field.

Her head flicked to the left as she hears a whinny and spotted the source, a young buckskin stalllion. He appeared to be overjoyed about something, but he was young and perfect for recruitment. She returned his call with one of her own gently dipping her head once she reached him Hello! My name is Josie, and what is yours? She swayed her tail, swatting at the bugs every now and than. She stood patiently, hoping that he would agree to return to the Tundra with her.

Dust heard the call and smiled as the source came over to him. "Oh hi." he said as he stopped his playing and turned to the mare. He took in her sweat covered body and tilted his head. "Are you alright?" he asked her. Dusty was one to worry about the others before himself. So when he took in the way she was, he was concerned for her well being.

Dusty smiled mentally and thought of what Mist would do if she were here. "So what can I do for you?" he asked her. Maybe she was here to offer him a home and if she was, you could bet that he would take her up on it. He was very much in the need of a place to live, a place that he could call home.
