    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Through death we'll be together
Titanica made her way through pangea yet again. She was here to give birth to the child she and Raj share. He had once been her captor and held her in one of the caves here. Maybe if she could find that cave then Raj could be there for the birth. It was just like in the beginning her aura and fire burned brightly. She finally made it to a cave when the labor pains started. She slowly lowered her body to the ground and sighed. She looked around and saw no one. She knew that it was almost time to bring the little one into the world. She clenched her teeth together as the pain started again. After a few bouts of pain and a lot of pushing her foal was born. She looked down at the little filly that lay behind her. She smiled and hoped that she could be more of a mother to the bay appaloosa filly than her mother had to her. She stood up carefully and turned towards to foal. She started to clean the foal and looked around.

@[Rajanish] I hope this is okay. This is also open to anyone to come and welcome Soulless

Nica had been… quite the experiment. He’d call it successful if it was complete, but for now he’d probably estimate it as the first part being successfully completed.

He’d learned a great deal from her and her mother - used the knowledge on a random other young woman, and yet another child was brought into the world. He didn’t remember her name, but he would spy upon the offspring now or then. The translucent appaloosa had been thrilled to see the boy had inherited his favourite gift; the ability to spread disease was quite a useful one. Perhaps Raj should have stolen the child, but his main experiment had shown promise and he was far more interested in manipulating her into thinking he was her saviour, her only strong and steady thing in life; inducing Stockholm syndrome in her had been almost too easy.

He should do it more often.

He had let her leave on purpose; and here she was, back in Pangea. Pleased with this development, Rajanish followed the young mare’s scent, which mingled with the smell of sweat and blood and birthing fluids soon enough. Only when she was done, he emerged from his hiding place, grinning (almost to be mistaken for a genuine smile) at the newly made mother. He brushed his lips over her poll and looked at the filly. His daughter was as see-through as he, he noted. ”Welcome, you little soulless ghost.” he said approvingly, then purred to Titanica; ”You did well this time.” he told her, touching her on the shoulder in a bit of a possessive manner, though it could easily be mistaken for affection.

Now to make this little girl into a proper hell-bringing ghost. The fun could begin: time for part 2 of this experiment.

Titanica was just about done cleaning the see-through filly when Raj made his appearance. She looked at her daughter and said "My little Soulless girl." She should be proud of the daughter she had just birthed but was sort of afraid of her. She wandered if Soulless also had the trait to accelerate diseases like her sire. She watched as Raj touched the filly on the shoulder.

Soulless looked up as a see-through stallion who had came out of shadows. She looked at her mom and then back to the stallion. She gave a small smile at her parents. The bay blanket girl said "Hi papa."

The see-through male assessed the girl. She immediately recognized him as her sire, as it was obvious they were related; in fact, if she had been male she might have been a clone-copy.

He however, had not cried, nor spoken for a long while after his birth. The fact that she did, was not a bad thing, he mused. ”You should nurse,” he decided, and took one step backwards looking at the pair. ”When you’re fed and rested, let’s go see what you can do.” he tells the filly - already getting her to get used to training, and subconsciously, implying that spending time with her mother was for food and rest, but not much more.

After all, she had a great deal yet to learn.

The little bay filly gave her father a small smile before turning towards her mom. She shoved her nose softly into her mom's side and moved her head to begin suckling on her teet. Once she was full she turned back to her parents and laid down beside her mom. She let her eyes drift shut as she began to fall asleep. Titanica looked down at her sleeping daughter and then turned her attention back to Raj. She gave a small smile and said "What lessons are taking place today for Soulless?"

The filly is obedient - as all foals their age should, he thinks. Still so moldable; she’ll learn quickly he thinks. He lingers, but doesn’t pay too much attention to her while she nurses, or when her mother nestles her so she’ll sleep. It’s when Nica asks him what lessons he’ll teach her and when, that he flicks an ear her way.

He crosses their short distance and snaps his tail at his hocks, then shrugs at her. ”Anatomy, I think.” After all, that had been his own first lesson - picking apart smaller creatures to find the similarities and differences, to understand the anatomy of a horse, later. Diseases would follow later; they had time enough. With the ghost-winged boy from last season, he hadn’t intervened, which had sickened his mother terribly - not that Raj really minded. But perhaps Soulless could learn more precision with the trait, if she knew what to look for.

@[Soulless] so, he died, but this thread is pre-death quest (: You may assume he taught her to ‘hunt’ small creatures and pick them apart if you like; we can do a new thread later if you want but he’ll be limited to visiting in ghost form/one thread per BQ year, so I might just make an open thread in Pangea where he lurks and see who answers it and she’ll be free to join in ^^
