    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Tread Lightly -[Litotes]

    Agave

There were so many changes in Nerine, she doesn't know how mother and father keep up with it. How do they trust every single leader, she is on her third ruler since she has been born. The politics truly seem like too much, how do the kingdom members pretend to like there ruler? When is enough, enough?

She just did not fully understand it all, both her mother and father were such good kingdom members. They obeyed each and every ruler, regardless how the kingdom felt, both parents held good positions and had honor in Nerine. Agave tried to amount to something, but it all seemed rather useless to her. What is the point in wasting your time with all the politics? Sucking up to the ruler, regardless if you like them or not.

She wanted to see more of beqanna, and to clear her head, and that was exactly the reason of her trip. The equine was within her feline form, the spotted cat makes her way through multiples kingdoms. She honestly was not fully aware of which kingdom she was currently within, so when she hears the sound of another coming she quickly pounces into a nearby tree.

She lays on one of the low level branches, her tail dangles down and her paws are crossed. She patiently waits to see who it is that appears, and who's kingdom she trespasses within.

The searing of his dismissal still lingers on his skin: sensitive and open with the extreme possibility of festering. It is not that Litotes is terribly angry - the anger bubbles just beneath the skin, imperceptible - but that he is confused and disenchanted. Kagerus certainly made him aware of how she feels about him, insults and anger seemingly spewing from thin air.

Sure, she can view his actions as a mistake. Though did they warrant this? The once Primarch is left in the dark of the inner workings of the Sanctuary, bile and bitterness rising in his throat.

To him, he was tossed about for political purposes - taken advantage of and then thrown away when he questioned his leader once. A leader that claims to know what is best, that claims to be good, that claimed to care for him and his family. A growl begins to burble in the back of his throat (the anger, it seeps out, confused and ablaze). The idea churns in his stomach, nausea abound.

And then there is Kensa - though Lie swings his head angrily at the thought. There is no fixing that now, must not dwell on it.

When the scent of a foreign cat wafts harshly into his nose, the lion stands stiff at attention, swinging his head around with suspicious eyes. He stalks forward, stomach low to the ground. If he were an equine, he would not have noticed the dangling tail or tiny noises she makes upon the branch; alas, he is full of feline senses and can predict her movements within their short distance.

He rises, then: “I’ve yet to meet another cat - shifter or true predator?” He questions, though he thinks he can smell the equine still lingering on her skin.

The noise she heard could not prepare her for the sight she see's, a lion? She nearly bursted out laughing, but managed to refrain. Her gaze shifts to the floor of the kingdom as the lion prowls before her.

He calls out to her, admitting he had never met another feline, and wonders if she is a true feline, or an equine. She lifts herself onto her paws, stretching out her back before sitting down to lick her paw. Her eyes remaining on the golden lion, her family strings shifters, her own father always sporting feline attributes.

Though she is used to seeing felines, she had never seen one like him. With a smirk she lowers her paw and finds herself on her feet once more, in one swift move she leaps from the branch she once sat to the ground before the mighty lion.

In nature, she was just larger than your average house cat, but beside this feline she feels like a kit. She grows closer to the lion, sniffing, allowing her nose to meet his. I am a shifter, Agave is the name. You don't smell like Loess. She says as she pulls her head back, then again she might be in luck having avoided a Loess member.

The feline ease in which Agave drops from the tree whispers quiet comfort to the pale lion: a familiarity he did not know exists comes to rest naturally between his shoulders. Perhaps she can teach him a thing or two about shifting, though she does not exactly exude the aura of one with complete control. Litotes can understand, and he does not want an understanding hand on his power anyway.

Leaves crunch beneath her paws as she slinks closer and closer. An amused smile lifts half of his mouth when he sees how small she is compared to him - maybe a bit taller than the bottom of his stomach. When she reaches to touch noses, he has to bend to her outstretched one, forcing himself to not laugh at their extreme size difference. He has seen differences in equines, but their countenances do not seem to range like a feline’s.

She states simply that she is a shifter - and, to his impressed surprise, that he does not smell like Loess. He thinks she has quite the nose on her - or worse, the sweet and fresh scent of Hyaline will forever stick to his skin.

“How very insightful,” the lion purrs, placing his stomach delicately to the ground to relax. He peers at the ocelot now just above his eyeline. “Litotes,” he offers next, testing the idea of divulging his once home. After another moment he admits, “Yes, I am from Hyaline.”

Litotes lifts his nose just a breathe away from her and plainly states, “You smell of no where.”
