    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The fog in the redwood forests of Taiga is pleasant; but it's less pleasant when all the Lost Boys are truly being Lost and when only he and Zain remain (at least, he smells him there every now and then). Beetle hasn't been around the place for a time, and although he's met a palomino and his shadow-wolf on his wanderings, Rajanish lives a relatively poor life on his own. No others to help him catch wildlife to dissect. It's boring.

But Sylva has been boring too. For a long while nothing much happened, and the queen with her intriguing red aura has disappeared into the night. Well, good riddance then. What kind of a leader was she anyway, if she let the younger population of her kingdom just wander about and settle in a whole other place?

He wonders sometimes if Kreep is still around somewhere, but as time passes, he can't be interested in that little fact any longer. Now, there's new smells in Sylva since the last time he'd visited (how long ago was that?) and if he'd been listening in well enough in the common lands, it was because there was a new king. Well then. Time to find out if Raj still belonged in here.

He weaves through the woods with ease, this is his home after all. His form is see-through, but his eyes see all that is the autumnal forest. It's home, and yet... it's not. It's changed.

And the further he moves to the heart of the place, the more certain the two-year-old becomes that maybe he should turn around. And yet he can't help being curious.
