    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    NOTICE TO SYLVAN MEMBERS
    #11
    it was a blood-soaked feast
    that never ceased
An ear flicks towards the sound of another coming through the cold chill of the unmoving trees, but Maugrim’s attention continues to remain on the viridian woman that has encapsulated his interest - her outward attempt to appear calm and collected draws him like a moth to a flame, keeping him closer to her than to anyone else of the group. A giggle erupts from the darkness and though Maugrim immediately recognizes the voice, his ears fall flat against the dampness of his algae-green and off-white skin. Jackal has always been a quizzical creature to him and that fact remains true now as she sashays into the group, focusing her wild gaze onto Arthas.

Arthas picks up the conversation yet again and Maugrim’s moist lips grapple at the dry air between his mouth and the woman’s flank, tempted to taste her. They talk of kings and successions, of kingdoms and allies and being stronger together. It does not appeal to him (not in the way that it appeals to Arthas, or even appeals to Sinner) and so his expression remains museful and mild, feigning interest only for the sake of remaining in the midst of the palpable tension caused by the forest-dwellers close proximity to those of Loess.

There is a low and amused hum that reverberates in the recesses of his throat, his lips closing into a sideways smile as his eyes fasten to Arthas. The hum becomes more poignant and grows into a deep chuckle, sinister sounding as the air waves ripple through the thin air. Even now it is possible that they do not realize who they have come to bed with - a demon, a psychotic woman with a perchant for blood, and a thoughtless killer - but their realizations were not any of Maugrim’s concern. Their lack of judgement perhaps has opened the door for an opportunity that Maugrim would not have thought to seek himself, but the way his brows prick upwards at Sinner’s proposition, even the two-toned poseidon could not help but become truly interested.

Maugrim’s thoughtful smile cracks into a wry grin, waiting with bated breath to hear what Arthas will consider. “Oh, we’ve just begun,” comes Maugrim’s sickly dripping voice, directed at the young winged stallion who has only just joined the small collection of horses deep within the throes of shadow and blackness. Maugrim’s eyes snap to the woman who still captures his full attention, careful to be sure she does not slip away from his closeness. His ivory tail flicks at his own flank as hers snaps against his chest, a sharp snort of amusement escaping the pale of his nostrils at the small act of defiance.

“You know the answer to that question; do you find me to be lesser than?” His grin is mischievous and revolting at the same time, sickly sweet and disastrous. “It is you who came seeking us,” he drawls, closing the few inches that is between them and ghosting his mouth across her smooth flank, “is it not Loess who seeks control of the forest?” Maugrim pauses, muscles tensing beneath his skin, knowing that his closeness will not go allowed for much longer.

“Or do I still mistake your intentions? Perhaps you should stay awhile and show help us to understand, dearie?”

It is at this final word that a small, unwanted kiss is placed on the slope of her hip - his eyes sparkling madly like black diamonds. Maugrim moves quickly then; not lingering behind her but using the same breath that was once pressed against her green flesh to move beside her. A well-aimed bite to his face or neck would be more appealing than a kick to his chin - either way, a reaction out of her would satisfy him completely.

    Vulgaris
"  when she's coming for my heart it feels like armageddon. "

Had he been to Sylva before? It felt like a lifetime ago now but he vaguely recalls some kingdom he had temporarily dwelled within alongside Cellar. Maybe it was some other place like it though. His thoughts are too hurried to focus on any sort of memories like that now, though. He had spent too much time at the river trying to overcome his feelings for Leliana, for their budding family. Eliminating Sylva as a threat and forging it into an ally seemed like a good idea to him though. It meant Loess would be more safe for his children to reside there with him now.

He had expected things to require some measure of violence and he’s surprised when he comes upon them discussing their negotiations. His sage-colored eyes turn to Sinner as he proposes himself as the second viceroy of their fledgling empire. Vulgaris always hated compromises, always felt hungry to crush anything that stood against him and his desires. With this in mind, he eyes the most delicate parts of Sinner’s throat without commentary.

But then he notices the green and white creature reaching for Rey with his teeth and Vulgaris surges forward. His lips part to bare all the sharp teeth glimmering, waiting so patiently for their time. Diplomacy was not his forte – he only knew the language of blood and war. This much is evident when a guttural hiss slips from his throat. He considers Rey something important, something to be protected from filth and slaughter, and he is pleased to oblige.

Maybe Sylva could shed some of its dead weight before you take their throne, Arthas,” he says in a voice that is oddly devoid of anger or mad desperation. His tone is something that is better suited for a refined banquet dinner, while his eyes cradle the essence of hunger and an unabashed lust for pain (his or theirs, it doesn’t make any difference to him). And then he falls silent like a dog waiting for its master’s command, to heel or to attack.

God, he just wants to chew someone’s face clean from their skull.

    Arthas
The numbers were growing, horses from Loess gradually arrived until it was four on three. Of course if a fight should break out it would be a damn good one, the sylvan horses were not to be under-minded. His attention turns to Sinner, the hound speaks once again, this time he notes that Arthas would need a second in command and he then went on to nominate himself.  A grin tugged at Arthas' lips, the hound was excited at the idea of creating hell? He was not wrong though, of course Arthas would need a second in command, and who better than a Sylvan member?

His gaze flicks to Rey who spits back at Maugrim, she was so full of life and would do well in either kingdom. In the midst of there heated debate Arthas caught the scent of another lingering.....the smell was familiar...the queen of Hyaline? He looked for her to make an appearance but she never does, was his mind playing tricks on him? He disregards the scent when his gaze finds Maugrim reaching in for a taste of Rey.

His ears pin to his dome, he was about to step out but as he did Vulgaris intercepted the pair. He had just recently met the Paladin, Vulgaris, but he quiet liked him. He was slightly sad that the stallion would remain in Loess as he enjoyed his company, he listens as Vulgaris recommends shedding some dead weight before taking the throne and he can only bare a quick chuckle. His gaze fixates on Maugrim please try your hardest to refrain from tasting my child's mother. He snorts at the stallion, he is well aware that his warning will go with little care. Morty had little rules in his kingdom, the equines fucked whoever and whatever they wanted, although Arthas would not have harm come to those he has feelings for.

    Feelings perhaps his biggest downfall.

His gaze flicks back to Sinner Of course I will need a second in command, I would very much enjoy having you be it. He turns back to Maugrim And would you like a position? The paladin perhaps? They would need leaders if the kingdom would thrive, Maugrim seemed to be as good as any, even though he had a lack of respect for the dapple stallion. Not all equines wanted a role in the diplomatic or war caste, he did not mind so long as they were ready to attack if needed. He scans the group of Sylvan's once again, it appears that the deal has been done.

Arthas was the new king of Sylva.

Sinner is no doubt humored by the show Maugrim displays for them all. His wolfish grin grows wide with amusement. The green and lavender-tinted stallion has no limits or bounds, which has always been rather amusing to the hellhound. It was no wonder he has chosen to follow him into the den of monsters in Sylva.

Now how the tables have turned.

The black hound had never predicted to see Arthas to try and lead the land he calls home. Truthfully, that had surprised him when he saw the beast showing up without an invitation. Perhaps there was more to the dappled stallion than he had anticipated. Only time will tell, and he definitely has all the time in the world.

He already can see the power of Arthas trying to control them. Giving Maugrim a warning was rather fruitful, and definitely would not go the same way for him too. Sinner may pledge his allegiance to be under the ruling of another, but he follows his own path more faithfully. It all depended what it was in for him after all.

And it seemed this moment had been the perfect opportunity to get what he wanted. The answer from Arthas was all he needed in order to throw down his will to fight the Loess members away from taking over Sylva. If Sylva was going to be revived, he would be at the top to ensure he would have a hand in it.

“So you will enjoy it, Arthas,” he says before falling silent.

His hollowed gaze turns towards Maugrim, intrigued to see if he will accept the position.
