The grand open expanse of the field was a slightly new sight to the mare as she explored her new world and wondered what her part to play in it would be. She had heard other horses while she explored the forest but she had kept to the shadows listening but not offering interaction with any of them just yet.
Though, she thought that the forest would be a place of solitude and peace for her to go to when she just wanted away from things. This new place offered up a chance to interact and possibly make some new friends after losing the ones that she was so used to.
She entered the field slowly and with a slight hint of caution. Her ears listening as she continued on her chosen path taking in the sights before her. The flowers of spring had died off and the summer blooms had taken over spreading their colors and scents out across the grass. The buzzing of bees could be heard and she tossed her head as a couple buzzed by. The white gray mare slowed her walk as she neared a small creek which allowed her a long and satisfying drink. As she drank she thought back to her time in these lands so far.
She had spent the first couple days just standing head down waiting for a sound or noise telling her that the men were back to collect her. The snap of a branch would make her lift her head and prick her ears but, upon seeing just a forest creature come out of hiding she had resumed her sullen state. She gave up on the men coming for her soon and had started to walk the game trails of the forest taking in all she could. Moon had even started to shadow a herd of elk. She kept her distance from the larger clumps of the animals as she knew how flighty these animals could be around her kind. But, these ones seemed at peace with her presence and soon she was following in line with them where ever they happened to go.
She would have to make sure to return to her foster herd at some point but, when you do not know the language one tends to feel like a tag along and not someone that belongs truly. Moon raised her head from the water droplets still falling from her chin as she looked around the field once more. She rolled her hip shifting her weight from her right back leg to the left one for now. She just watched them all, she was growing quiet accustomed to watching.
