    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Vayna thought about it. She pawed the earth restlessly and shook her head. It sounded like an okay deal with her. As long as he stayed far away from the mentioning of courting her. That She would not tolerate, and if that happened, she would definitely break the agreement and leave. No matter how glorious this herd would be.

"Fine." She replied. "I will come with you."

She smiled a bit, her eyes dancing with slight excitement. That deal she had made was a test. She did it to the many stallions who asked her into their herds. Either they would refuse, or they would give in completely. What she wanted the stallion do do, was make sure the offer was equal, but not test her boundaries too much. She had one more assessment coming along, but she did not let it reveal in her expression. She was also dangerously good at keeping secrets.

She nodded her head in one direction, tail swishing. The petite pony began to walk without an explanation of why she was heading this way. Then, she spoke.

"There are many lush and unclaimed herd-lands in this direction that are free from the smell of others, and filled with flowers, streams, and shelter." She informed him. She was a handy resource when it came to seeking out vacant land. Name somewhere, and she bad been there, done that.

"How about we see about Paradise Beach, that seems like a nice place." Said Espíritu de fuego. He was glad that they could join together.

Vayna pondered on the thought. That could be a good idea, but Paradise Beach received harsh weather during the winter.

"That would be a good option, but the weather is harsh. It would be ideal for summer, but we would have to migrate south for the winter. If you okay with that, we can head to Paradise Beach now." Vayna ventured.

She was okay with traveling each year. She had traveled all her life so what difference would it make? Besides, she enjoyed getting updates on how the land had changed and developed, and what new horses moved in. It could benefit the growth in their herd as well, for there would be plenty of lone mares and stallions they could pick up along the way. But of course, with every pro, there was a con.

They had to travel under dramatic weather, including the occasional blizzard or lightning storm. Also, if they got on the move to late, the waves would be horrible, and even more so, dangerous. There were a couple other herds who nested on the edges of Paradise beach as well, and if they weren't careful, their herd mares would be stolen by the other stallions. Of course, that could be easily taken care of, but granted she was a mare herself, she would be vulnerable as well. This did not intimidate the little mare, but she often worried about the stallions around her.
