    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[PQ - in progress] Where the rocks lie; a fairy
    #1
The secret of walking on water is knowing where the rocks lie
    Eurwen

She doesn’t come back immediately when she can, but she doesn’t want to wait too long anyway. Her trip from Nerine to the lonely peak is meditative, silent and alone as she goes. She thinks of what to say, what to ask - then comes tp the conclusion that they probably already know. She’d told them - her mother is missing, and in every other sense of the word than death, gone - she might as well be. If there was one thing about her that she remembers, it’s that she could share past emotions, events with high emotional value - and she would certainly like to be able to do the same or similar. It makes her feel closer to her mother, closer to herself and her source, to think of it - but thoughts alone never had changed the world for the better, if no action followed.

She goes halfway up the Mountain, losing herself in a few memories there; she stops, watching the view and seeing something else in her mind’s eye, no magic needed. Her twin cousins with pebbles on their backs, a cracked mountain, a cracked Eurwen and a cracked Oriash as well, yelling at one another, and then leaving to go back home. She shakes her head once - that is what makes her, her. When she blinks, she looks back up to the Mountain, and then decides to wait here, in the place that feels like a crossroad of sorts. Go further and ask for a quest - get involved with the fae once more - or go home.... and never know?

She takes the few more steps, then, facing the peak that still looms over her. She doesn’t go any further, because she knows it’s not needed to go to the top. She is old enough to know now, that that is not how it works. Her shimmering tail swings softly in the breeze as she overthinks the travels that she made here before. One entirely out of sorrow and longing for the past, one entirely bent towards saving the future. Today, she is just the present - trying to learn from the past without worrying about a future she cannot know about.

”Can you help me become more whole?” she asks softly into the wind. More herself? More of what she might have been in different circumstances - less broken, less lonely - and perhaps with more insight of what had made her, she would know better what she wants to be.

Here to quest for (the mutated Empathic Echoes into) Sorrow Aura!
(Or you may roll for the echoes trait or something similar, anything close to it would work)

They are, in fact, supposed to go to the top. The request questers had been getting rather lazy in this, it seems, but the point of the climb is to earn what you seek. It is to spend time with yourself and the wind and the cold, to turn inward to find your own strength. While half the mountain is enough for this to begin, it only truly happens in the second half of the climb.

Still, she appears, hovering some distance away up the mountain. ”No one can help you with that problem, child.” Though Eurwen is not technically a child, they are all children to something as ancient as the faeries are. ”Go back down and find your own strength, your own fullness. Talk to others who have done this and see what helped them. Return and tell me what you learn, though do not think I will meet you midway on the Mountain next time.” Eurwen would climb to the top, or she would receive nothing.

You have received a quest! Have a thread with 2 other horses to learn how they made themselves whole, and come back to tell Wysteria what you have learned.
