Winter is in the height of its power when Nashua decides to approach to the Mountain again.
A blizzard that blew through the North the night before leaves a powder coating of snow in the Taigan forest and the hoofprints he leaves behind him is obvious: he goes South. Just until the dense Redwoods part and by the time he reaches the River, Nashua finds himself greeted by daybreak and blue sky. This is where his literal trail ends. It is to the heavens that he goes and the young stallion takes to the air, eager to be on his way to the heart of Beqanna with an enthusiastic spread of his wings.
He's made this journey once before and as a yearling, he had climbed it. He had climbed and climbed until he reached the highest peak that his youthful body could allow and then he had waited. Nashua had felt it. He knew he could feel the force beneath the Mountain - stirring and primal. Ancient and knowing. Even though nothing had happened, he could the power below the stone. It was enough of a feeling that it called Nashua back.
The colt lands at the base of the Mountain and then climbs it, folding his wings close against his sides. (He doesn't know if it matters if treks or soars but he intends to be humble in his approach. The young pegasus has been warned several times against meddling with Magics and powers greater than his own.)
When the air is so cold that it leaves his throat raw and the mist of clouds cloaks the gray stone, Nashua stops. He lifts his chestnut head and waits, wondering if it would be like before. If he would feel the Mountain or if perhaps, if this time something more might happen.
