    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    SUNLIGHT
There is no change in her posture as the large stallion swallows any distance between them with large, purposeful steps. Only the gold-rimmed of her ears flick backwards slightly, amused all the more (and even enthralled) as he comes face to face with her. They are studying each other with sinister, curious eyes and though she finds herself drawn to those ominous red irises, Sunlight finds the deep gold flecked across his face and jawline to be riveting. She nearly stretches her neck towards him to brush the pale ivory of her mouth against that sparkling skin - but the thought is lost as his teeth grab hold of a single lock of deep golden hair and tugs on it sharply.

Curiosity leaves the sharpness of her features and is replaced with something far more gravitating and heavy; a look of pure fury flashing like fire across her face. The languid and secretive smiles that she had once worn are long gone and though she remains still, it is obvious that she is having trouble keeping herself before him. “Obscene,” she repeats thickly, staring up at him from beneath the deep gold of her forelock that shadows the bold white of her blazed face.

The rage that seems to have risen within her seems to fester in her bold eyes and then, subtly and quietly, it retreats. She smiles that mischievous smile, delectable and secretive, tilting her head slightly to peer up at him. In a single blink, her mane and forelock are replaced with orange flames, glowing white where it touches the crest of her neck. Whether he steps to the side or backs up, Sunlight leaps to her right (splashing lightly in the stream) before gracefully pulling herself onto the bank behind him.

With her mane still nothing but fire, she turns to look over her shoulder at him with a simple smile. A flick of her tail extinguishes her flames, leaving nothing but golden tendrils to brush gently against her shoulders in the breeze. “Don’t touch me,” she croons sweetly, giving her head a delicate toss.

A pause, and then smugly: “Are we still anything alike?”
    a fire shall be woken
