    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The autumn weather is what draws him back towards the forests. For what seemed like ages the young colt had disappeared into the beyond trying to discover whether or not the power he sought even existed. Unfortunately for him he still hadn't found it. Though that didn't mean he was ready to give up. Simply that it was time to take a much needed break and possibly discover a different approach. Sometimes faith is all that's needed. At least that's what his father used to tell him.

Long slender legs carried the teenager through the trees with a smooth elegance as the cool air wrapped around him in a gentle embrace. The smallest of chills ran down his spine as the sound of wolves howling carried through the trees. He was home. This was where it had all started. His great grandfather had discovered this place and now he had the chance to do so himself.

Izora had been a kind and welcoming face when he had made his way here as a young colt not more than a few months old. She had easily accepted him to the forest and allowed him to stay and he was more then grateful for her kindness. While seeing her now would be wonderful, it was time he expanded his horizons and got to know the rest of the members that lived here.

This time he sought Lilliana. He had known back then that she had been the other leader of Taiga, though he hadn't had the pleasure of getting to know her. This time that would certainly change. For what feels like hours the colt makes his way through the trees in search of the mare he had heard so much about and when he finally finds her he comes to a stop, a simple nicker exiting his lips in greeting.

"Lilliana," his voice is deeper then it used to be - quiet yet warm and inviting. "I can't remember if we've met." It's a half truth. He's almost certain they haven't, but he never has been great with his memory, even as a young colt. "I'm Voracity."
