They are not gods or goddesses. There is no such thing in Beqanna, except for Beqann herself perhaps, but she is the land and the land is she. It not the same as the idea of a deity, really. The faeries were little more than extensions of Beqanna, magic given form and voice to serve the residents of Beqanna. They did not see it that way, certainly, but in the end, that is what they did. Sometimes when your life is finite though, it's hard to see the bigger picture.
She comes at the call today, appears before the woman in her small white and purple form. Such a pretty little thing with such a hard heart. ”Everything?” she asks, and there is a spark in her eye not of excitement, but...ah, well, it's hard to say exactly what. Something knowing, though. ”It does not take magic to be a strong woman. I could give you all the power in the world, but that would not make you strong.” Indeed, there were many powerful horses in Beqanna who did nothing with the gifts they were given.
Purple tendrils of magic snake out from Wysteria, wrapping themselves around Dawn. They pull at her powers, her immortality, her horn, her shifting. It is all stripped from her and she is left with nothing. ”Go and find strength on your own. Come back when you have found it, and I will give you what you seek.”
