    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Bean is thinking that a nap right now would just be the best thing ever. The hot sun overhead makes her feel warm all over and drowsy. If the smile on her face is anything to go by, it echoes that sleepy happiness that she feels. So she folds her legs beneath her but this position just doesn’t feel comfortable enough.

She rolls over onto her side so that her cheek is on a pillow of grass. It feels much better and she sure is sleepy enough but the nap eludes her. Bean frowns, scooches further into the grass and dirt as if that will make it more suitable. It’s not that it isn’t but she feels restless now instead of sleepy.

“Oh bother!” she mutters under her breath before rolling over onto her back. She maintains that pose for a moment before her fat little belly pulls her back onto her side, thanks to the gravitational pull. Still not satisfied but somehow a little more comfy, Bean decides to sky gaze.

It is the perfect pastime! Finding shapes in the clouds or even counting them should also make her sleepy. She can feel that nap time goodness stealing over but also a measure of hesitation - what if a really neat cloud goes by and she gets all excited? Why, then there goes her nap! Perhaps looking at the clouds will just be darn useless.

She harrumphed, and blew little bits of broken grass around on the ground. Even caused a dandelion to sway which attracted the attention of a fat bumblebee. It wasn’t one of the wish-upon-a-puffball kinds of dandelion, it was one of the bright yellow ones. The bee buzzed and flew and Bean followed it with her eyes until she was cross-eyed and yawning.

    Yay, nap time!
Oops, not quite as the ground shakes under her head.

Not like earthquake-level, just minor little reverberations that suggest someone is walking near her. Bean snorts, lifts her head a little and says, “Do you mind? I’m trying to nap here!” but there’s no anger in that boring brown face. There just might be an impish gleam in her brown eyes and a grin curling about her lips, like she’s the only one that gets the joke.
