    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The sweet taste of forgotten blood; Godbear
    #4
the ancient heavenly connection to the
starry dynamo in the machinery of night
    Godbear

She moves - sudden and quick and with surprising ease - and Godbear sidesteps rapidly, hardly prepared for the movement. A life of being blindsided will do that to you - create reactions that are ever defensive, always ready to flee (though even that, he does not excel at). Just as easily, she shifts into a steady calmness - as quickly as the tide turns, a kinder demeanor spreads across her face. No longer is there a tense bracket between the two, bt instead the ability for a soft conversation.
Godbear was never good at conversation (the lack of close relationships in life will do that to a person) - he never quite knew where to start, how to say hello ; his curiosity and cowed demeanor always won over, forever locked in a state of uncomfortable unease, uncertain how to create a connection. It seems though, that this mercurial mare before him had no problem in navigating a smooth transition of conversation.
Caelestra - she has a name, and a kindly smile across her features, no more sharp movements and warning face. And she expects one back. “G-Godbear. I’m Godbear.” He stammers out, his voice weaved with apology for a lack of introduction. “I meant - I mean- your mark. Did my father find you too?” For all his age (eons and ages he has spent in that night sky), he speaks nearly like a child; a timid young man unsure of where to go.
He moves his body towards her, showing his hide more clearly - the constellation of ursa major painted across his flank. “He marked me. And you have it, too.”
