    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

There's something new and refreshing about spring in a way that fall and summer never could be. Certainly not winter, winter is a time for burrowing deep down in your skin and letting the world slip away. Spring, though, brings about the birthing of fresh new children. Surgery does not think about this in the way of a cannibal - no! He thinks about it in the way of an eternal optimist, albeit a serious one. See, Surgery has been long from Beqanna and in his sojourn he's learned a thing or two about being optimistic. His childhood was fraught with disaster and sadness, and while he still harbors hatred of magic he no longer lets it control him.

Maybe he read one too many self help books. Whatever it is, it looks good on him.

Surgery prowls the edges of the forest with his new upbeat manner, realizing that Beqanna has changed once more since he was last within her borders. The lands shifted again, the kingdoms dropped and then materialized once more, the edges of the kingdoms now boasted new lands for those to frequent and claim. The entire thing is overwhelming and rather than join in on the newness, Surgery sticks to what he knows.

    He knows the forest.
    He knows the river.
He knows the commonlands and prefers these lands to stick it out until he figures something out. Anything out, really.
