    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[private]  a falling star fell from your heart; epithet
    #1

Somehow he had lost track of time. The days had become long, muddling all into very one long day. Most of the time the days were bitter and cold. Snow every now and then fell slowly and gently, or hard and burying the dead autumn earth. The hour of the wolf, dark and lit up by the night sky stars, lingered more than usual. The boy had not mind that change one bit. However, just as the seasons changed, so did he.

The passing of time allowed his cremello coat to thicken. It grew into a rather warm winter coat, something he never thought he would experience again. However, the old in this world had become the new for the boy. He learned, and sometimes relearned, about the world around him. During the long felt days of wandering and exploring the new world he found many new wonders. Astrophel had always an eye for detail, taking in every part and feeling every emotion possibly.

It was more recently he felt something ache. The feeling was rather familiar as the days came and went. However, it grew into something more. His heart started to feel heavy and hollow. The very notion of hope faded away within the darkness of his mind and heart—a block hole sucking every part of hope and happiness he had held onto. He was beginning to feel the very mentality of this world. It edged closer and closer to him, his mind filling with clouds, until it fully controlled him.

Astrophel wondered if this was going to be the way. Would he continue to feel to miserable and misplaced if he remained here longer? This world was nothing compared to the world beyond the clouds that he had been in. Here in this world, Beqanna, there was destruction and ruin. But, up there within the blackness and stars, there was hope and wholeness—not a thought to ever question anything.

But he is not among the stars anymore.

The boy sighs softly in the quiet winter night. His breath expels slowly, lifting up and then vanishing right in front of him. Astrophel stares with hazel eyes long and hard at the clear night sky. The stars and moon are bright tonight, illuminating the snow blanket meadow. He has been staring at the sky for hours now while he simply forgets the sense of time.

Then again, time itself had never needed to consume him. The star boy had been a part of it all, the beginning and end. He would become something new when one star faded away into nothing. If anything, Astrophel knew he would still be there among the stars when one star’s time was over. He never questioned the beginning or ending of the astral world. There was no reason to when you were whole and felt in complete bliss with it all.

A bitter wind howls through the night. It sends a shiver down his spine, breaking his attention away from the stars. The cremello boy sighs again, and moves forward towards a lone tree within the meadow. Perhaps it was time to sleep. However, rest would not come easy tonight. It never did for the many months he had been here now.

So far, nothing else had become easier.
