    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Sure, she was young, but she was old enough to be on her own. As a little over a yearling, she could graze without requiring any mother's milk, and with a bold, independent personality she could easily manage her own affairs.

She did miss the beautiful mare who took her in when she lost everything, sweet Zaravich, though she hid it well. She could not afford to show weakness to any soul. So, when she entered this land, there would be no ties to hold her down, no emotional baggage. It was high time she focused on her future.

Her sharp eyes immediately zeroed in on the most influential person she found in the entirety of the field, based wholly on her own experiences and expectations of such a person.

"Excuse me," she greeted evenly, lacing her tone in far more politeness that it would normally have. "Do you perchance know of a territory where one might live freely?" She made certain her question implied she would not be ordered about, for she didn't respond well with boorish authority and would easily rid herself of such an impertinent person.
