    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Each time he wanders off into the untended depths of the world, he emerges back into something different. Everything is evolving, or devolving at a pace he can scarcely keep up with. Things are much different now, than in the verdant days of his youth. He is aged, and yet ageless all in one. The once dark splotched points of his body have all faded to a silvery white, merging seamlessly with the creamy plumage of his wings. He is no stranger to the Meadow, often visiting in the early hours of twilight when the world is in limbo. The night creatures meandering back to their dens paid him no mind, as the day creatures scampering out into the world regarded him nervously. He watched everything impassively, breaths blowing softly and steadily. A steadfast mountain amidst the winds of change.

Uconn was of a gentle temperament, much like the summer night in which he found himself. The air was warm, and moist, with a gentle buzz of insect wings and crickets cries. The soft bubbling of the stream came steadily from his left, and the scent of wet earth and sweet grass filled his nostrils. He did not graze tonight, he felt as though he were waiting for something, expecting something though he did not know what. He cocked a silvery hind leg and set his eyes upon the soft blinking of the fireflies that danced around him.
