    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

" Some girls are like butterflies: Pretty to see, hard to catch. "

Ah, Spring. Such a beautiful time of the year where everything is born. It always lifted her spirits to see new things come to life from the grass to every newborn foal. Though it was not time for any mares to be giving birth. Not just yet. She silently wondered how many there would be this season as she gazed up briefly at the bright, cloudless sky. Though the exact number would surely be impossible to count, for the land was vase, but it certainly brought a smile to her face as she imagined Beqanna filling with many new foals. Yes, spring truly was a beautiful season.

She lowered her head and began grazing on the fresh greens of the Meadow, closing here eyes serenely. Though she loved foals, it was this part of Spring that had captured her heart. The calmness, the feeling of life that engulfed her, the warm and inviting weather with a mixture of chill bitten breezes and the warm sun above. And there was nothing better than the taste of fresh green grass.

Yes, everything was just perfect in the eyes of this free spirited mare. The only thing she wanted to change, however, was her lack of friends and companions in this new land. She had only just arrived in Beqanna a few days ago, and instead of going on a social trek she had decided to sit around and be lazy. Since Spring had just arrived and everything was perky and fresh. It wouldn’t be long until Summer catches up and nothing will be fresh anymore; best take advantage of the season while she still could. But now she was starting to think she’d been lazy long enough. Approaching others and introducing herself to them wouldn’t be a bad call now, and perhaps she could get some more insight on the Kingdoms she’s heard so much about lately.

She raised her head to look about for any other horses, smiling brightly to herself.
