Weather add on

I am wondering if it's cool for a leader to add a thread that has weather updates reflecting seasonal changes or major weather events in their kingdom?  Maybe some pictures within the thread of a storm or sunshine, local plants and possible wild animals that would be encountered... That way characters can play off the current weather/season or event if they'd like.  Sometimes I forget it doesn't always have to be sunny and 75 in my own writing.  Mixing it up can be fun!
