    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

He was back again, empty handed of course, but returning none-the-less. Its night and it’s cold, cold enough to make his long winter coat stand on end and his skin prickle over. He has a bit of fun moving through the trees and bushes, all encased in a sparkling frost, his body disappearing in the shadows and reappearing in the moonlight amongst the silvery glowing diamonds. He’s delighted to not see snow and to know that his new home possesses the ability to shed the cold with each sunrise and become decent again.

There is a small pool, steaming and comfortable among the frostiness, it’s rocky mouth lined with marked stones and healthy vegetation. The temperatures keep the plant-life safe from cold, the mists keep them watered. There are several worn lines in the earth, from Chem’s constant travel to and from his favorite salt-water bath.

Mmm. He slips into its heat with a groan, his body disappearing into the black.
