They were born on a cool spring night under thousands of stars. She had felt the cramp, the unbearable pain that came when labor was beginning, that didn't subside until the children were released from her womb. She had paced outside their cavern for awhile, her breaths becoming shorter and more rapid as time went on and as the pain grew. 

She doesn't remember a lot. She didn't remember a lot from her first birth either. She remembers pushing, and she remembers the sweat. She remembers how Embassy had come first - his chestnut coat was slick with amniotic fluid, and she hadn't even had time to clean him before another contraction had her reeling. 

Push Kuma, push. It's another one. Imperial's soothing voice had whispered. And she did. She pushed until Demi made her way into the world. Two beautiful mouths to feed, her family growing. She was so happy that these were made from love instead of rape. 

The children had learned of their powers rather quickly, and now as they grew and began exploring Loess on their own, they became more and more aware of them. Embassy spent much of his time near the water, giggling as his body changed form from horse to fish. Watching his sister shift from various species of bird to her regular self. She loved being a mother, it was what she had always wanted.
