She hears the call as soon as it rings out across the Dale. It is familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. For so long she had been accustomed to hearing Tiphon's voice when the kingdom is called together. But today things have changed. Today it is Ramiel's voice. She knows immediately what that means.
Her thoughts turn to Joscelin. Lifting from the earth, she sets out in search of her daughter. Even with the advantage of flight, it takes her some time to find her. She is standing quietly in a small grove, broken skin flickering with traces of light. As she lands beside her, Joscelin's haunted golden eyes find her own cinnamon gaze. Elysteria cannot keep her own sadness from showing as they stare at each other for several moments. Finally, she says simply, "It is time."
Without a word, Joscelin leaps into the sky. Elysteria is directly behind her. They arrive at the knoll together, mother and daughter, so similar yet so different, landing as one. But where Elysteria's greeting is warm, Joscelin's is absent.
Russet eyes bright, Elysteria's gaze finds Tiphon, her heart in her throat. Her eyes remain fixed upon him for a moment before they move to Ramiel. He addresses them with confidence and authority. When he speaks directly to her, a bright smile touches her lips as she nods in acceptance.
"Of course. I would be happy to arrange visits. We will need to discuss who we would like to ally ourselves with as well, aside from the Jungle."
Joscelin remains silent for the entirety of the speech, only nodding once when Ramiel's gaze lands directly upon her. She understands and accepts her responsibilities in the arrangement. And though she is not the same girl as she had been when everything had been laid at her feet, she has not changed her mind. Her fractured spirit is as healed as it can be. She will hone the rest, turn it to her advantage. The jungle will help her do that. She waits until the meeting has concluded. When it does, she fades into the trees, heading in the direction of her new home.
