Kuma
She longs for a time when things were easier.
Beqanna had changed, this much she knew. Sylva was no longer ridden with the evil creatures of the night, she could sleep peacefully knowing Gryffen was no longer lurking in the shadows. But even so, the nightmares persisted, and the voice in the back of her head continued to tell her "it will happen again."
She is more reserved, more quiet now. Her babies had grown and Embark took her leave (to her mother's dismay and heartbreak). The skin upon Kuma's hide had healed, a majority of her chestnut coat had grown back, and her mane was nearly to the bottom of her shoulder now, but still she couldn't move on.
She wanted to though. She wanted to grow from her situation. Guilt for sheltering the girls ran deep, regret for not trying harder to move on sooner was heartbreaking, but she had decided during Imperial's absence of Loess to change. She wanted more with Imperial than a life of fear.
The morning air is crisp as she walks out from inside the cave and towards the field of varied flowers. The flowers gave her comfort on days she felt lonely. She feels a lump growing in her throat as she awaits him. He said he'd be back by the fall, hadn't he? He said he'd be there, right?
She hears him before she sees him. Her heart leaps when her gaze finally meets his, as tears well in her eyes. "Imperial!" She exclaims, rushing towards him, body colliding with his. She finds her lips traveling from his face to his shoulder. "I missed you!"
