"Of course I don't mind," he laughs warmly, following behind Jah-Lilah as she pulls him again from his worries and heads for the moon-washed waters. The soothsayer's voice rings through the darkness and Amet listens intently as he steps into the waters, letting it lap at his lower legs. She reassures him, offering her wisdom without so much as a hesitation or a judgment, and finally Amet starts to grow comfortable with the way he has been feeling. He had thought himself selfish to want Ciri for himself, to be the only one who brought her that kind of companionship.
He begins to breathe easier as the red wytch speaks, his amber eyes averted to watch their silhouettes in the water's reflection. His contemplation is lighter now, with newfound motivation taking hold in his chest. Of course he has to tell her. He wants to tell her, to see if his affections are returned.
He has to know.
"Thank you, Jah-Lilah," he says quietly, with a hint of a smile hidden in it, "Thank you."
