The jackal of Taiga was lurking as always.  On this day near the only break in the twisted web of deadened trees and thorns.  They came, just two, with vengeance.  Crimson eyes followed there path and as words were shouted he crept even deeper in the shadows. Observing.  That's when it happened.  The ground gave way to fire and what still remained growing withered away.  So much happened in so little time.  All he did was grin that demonic grin.  With a cackle rising in his throat he stepped back, cloaked in darkness, and disappeared thru the wall.  Sylva was just outside the border so he snuck back into the canopy of autumn as he had once before...
