Misty's joints ached, she had traveled a long way in her struggle to find acceptance. Would this place be different? Her mind was filled with thoughts, mostly what ifs. She walked slowly over to a small shade tree. The cool breeze blew gently through her mane. Her eyes now carried the look of determination. She started into a trot towards the lake that she could see in the distance.
She slowed once she got to the edge. Without hesitation she slid down the bank as her dry lips met the cool water. After she had quenched her thirst she climbed back up the bank and began to feast on the sweet lush green marsh grass that grew along the lakes bank. However something seemed odd. She thought that she was the only horse here for miles and miles yet she could still pick up faint scents here and there.
After Misty had eaten her fill she proceeded to lie down under the small shade tree that she had discovered earlier. She soon fell asleep, dreaming of a world that she hoped to soon find, A world where she would be accepted.
