    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

GAME OVER [Any who dare play]
    #3

The creature of darkness stalked his prey lying but a bound or two away.  Such distance he could cover quickly on long slender legs.  His neck held level to the brush to hide his form from their view.  Crimson glare consumed on the small figure frolicking carelessly... Much, much to far from safety.  Demonic grin formed curling his lips to bare his canines.  Just a game... Maybe tag...

Visions of a sharp bite to the young one was cut short as the presence of another was felt.  Not in the warmth of a touch but that feeling you get when you're being watched.  Crimson stare slid from his prey to seek out the dark figure lingering within the shadows.  Her own ruby gaze giving her away.  Slowly his head raised as he turned to face the... Girl.  Not still a child but not yet a women.  Perfect.  His lips had uncurled slightly to a more proper smirk.  Watching as she approached cautiously.  Listening as she spoke at him.  He required no greeting, she was correct.  As she seemed to be off put by his uninvited presence here he lavished in the thought of no one else knowing he was here, they were here together... Alone.

Soon she questioned him and he played with it in his mind.  Why was he here? He had only one answer to that question.  For a moment silence surrounded them and without a moment more he took a step forward.  Then another until they were neck to neck.  His lips slid to her ear as he whispered her answer, "I want to play a game."

Any other equine wouldn't have dared close that distance to a stranger.  Unknowing of their capabilities but he didnt care.  He also didn't retract from his position.  His soul fed on the fear of others.  Consuming it until he was intoxicated by it.  So he held his position.  Crimson eyes drinking hers in.  Such a wonderful hue they held that matched his own.  Waiting for her to flinch.  To lash out in protest or better yet stay still a while so he could play.  That's all he wanted... To play a game.
