    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Here it comes with no warning; capsize, i'm first in the water
There had been months, and even years that had separated her from the only world she had known. She had found herself in the shadows and outskirts of a strange, unknown world. There in that new world, she had lost herself. Lucrezia had searched for who and what she was—no, she ran from it. She wasted days away from a world, the sandy dune kingdom, that she knows she could have better luck in. Before the Reckoning, she knows she likely could have found herself.

She could have stopped it too.
    But she did not.
It was always too late, always out of time.

Lucrezia feels the nip of winter on her back. It rushes up her spine and sends her shivering violently. She stands in the field, as winter arrived not too long ago, with nutmeg eyes glance here and there. Her body is not prepared for such a season like this. No, Lucrezia was from a far warmer climate that was humid and filled with warmth all year around. But, despite all of this, she does not press away from doing what feels right most in her heart. It is a rhythm and habit to come to the field almost every day now, just as her heartbeats and her lungs fill her body with life.

Her movements are forward now, carrying her champagne body in no particular direction in the field. She is simply searching and seeking out whatever she might find. Lucrezia believed that fate would allow someone to come to her (or she might find them) if today was her day.

    And it was.

She spots the mare—a normal red dun, but with strange orange markings on her legs and a feather tucked behind her ear. The feather intrigues her more. Lucrezia had feather-like mane and tail of peafowl autumn coloring. It had made her stand out against most others, just as these features of this stranger does too. So with a soft smile and curious heart, she makes her way to the mare.

“Hello,” she says when she comes in speaking distance to the mare. Lucrezia comes to a stop in comforting distance, not too familiar but still friendly and minding the space of the other mare. “A lovely morning is it not?” Her head tilts to the side and her eyes light up with warmth. “I’m Lucrezia.” She then falls silent but still keeps a soft smile on her fair colored lips.
    ...too close to the bottom.
